Fresh powder, relatively warm temperatures and a great group of energetic skiers made the BC ski day at Big Jay an outstanding trip! Led by Tyler and Cathering, we started out bright and early and were skinning into Jay State Forest by 10am, all the while being covered in a light blanket of new snow. Big Jay faces east and sits just south of Jay Peak Resort. However, Big Jay is accessed best by foot...well, ski. Delighted to have the entire bowl almost to ourselves, we practiced the art of kick turns and set a very efficient track up to temping chutes. Our hard work was rewarded with excellent conditions that made it hard to quit. After a very full afternoon we returned to Burlington pooped, but psyched for the opportunity to get out and do it again!
